Big boys do cry
Well we think we have got over the trauma of taking such a hit only the day after having such a good session on Saturday. Talk about night and day, we were absolutely dumbstruck as one loser after another was notched up along with placed runners aplenty. The end result is there for all to see and and the analysis will be going on for a while yet as we try and isolate just why it was we got it so wrong.
We are probably better off just getting on with it as it will just turnout to be one of those things but a result like that would have snuffed out the win & place total in it's infancy and if there is anything we can do to avoid it again, apart from abstaining that is, then it will be a worthy few hours spent.
It was a similar sad tale of woe with the lay picks taking an uncharacteristically triple dive as it was holed beneath the water line yet again. The just 4 fun selections went down fairly early but at least the Top Rated didn't let us down. Mind you when that runner happens to be DUNGUIB then you deserve at least a bit back.
The Diary ended up square by the end of the session but that wasn't before going down on his first 2 selections and then making it back up the other side. If we had done the same we would have been far more grateful.
Getting away from the financial calamity probably the major talking point had to be the victory of JONCOL over COOLDINE at Leopardstown. We thought either he or MONEY TRIX would be able to get the better of the Willie Mullins runner but couldn't decide which and so went for both. It was one of the few straws we gripped tightly to and brightened the day in the process.
Today we will be touching and rubbing every good luck charm that adorn the office in the hope that we will get a portion of yesterday's mugging back. |
